The benefits of automation technology could well exceed simple labour substitution because people and technology combined are stronger than either alone. Even so, the disruption to enterprises and workers will be significant. According to the World Economic Forum’s report on workforce reskilling, one in four adults reported a mismatch between the skills they have and the skills they need for their current job.
