A year ago, a group of researchers specializing in business and human rights gathered at the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies at Mahidol University to discuss the preparatory stages of a book project. Our purpose was simple and direct: we sought to identify the most salient and pressing issues in the current field of business and human rights, nearly eight years since the United Nations Human Rights Council’s endorsement of the Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
