Talent Management: A Four-Step Approach

In 2005, searching the term ‘talent management HR’ yielded eight million hits using a well‐known internet search engine (Lewis and Heckman, 2006), and by 2012 the same term gave over 25 million hits. This suggests a growing number of articles and books on the subject. One might hope that all this activity would have led to a well‐accepted definition of ‘talent management’ and a specific, well‐ defined approach and related practices.
